Closed Charter Schools

Charter public schools exchange accountability for autonomy.  Charter public schools accept the responsibility to meet the conditions of their performance contract.  It is the responsibility of the sponsor to hold charters accountable to their contract.  Schools that have low academic performance, financial difficulties or violate state and federal statues are subject to non-renewal or revocation.

Charter public schools are governed by non-profit boards.  A school's Board of Directors may also relinquish their charter.

Schools with non-renewed, revoked or relinquished charters are closed.
