Judith W. Meyer has always been an educator. After her PhD from the University of Chicago and a year of teaching in a public school in Chicago, most of her teaching was at the University
level, at the University of Connecticut. After 10 years as an administrator at the University of Connecticut, she became vice president for Academic Affairs at Fontbonne University, and then
President of the Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis. Throughout her professional career, she worked with educators at the K-12 level. She was recruited to serve as the founding
Chair of the Board of Directors of EAGLE College Prep in St. Louis in 2013 because of her background in education and concern for urban youth. She built the Board of Directors, led the
LEA through two charter renewals and a separation from their long-standing management organization. She was appointed to the Commission in August 2023. She is married, with two
grown children and seven grandchildren.
