Mr. Urail, (Shawn) Williams is very excited to be joining the team as the Deputy Director of Engagement for the Missouri Charter Public School Commission. Shawn began his undergraduate studies at Purdue University before transferring and graduating from the University of Missouri St. Louis with a BA in Psychology. Later he went on to earn an MBA from Webster University with an emphasis in Management and Leadership.
Immediately prior to MCPSC, Shawn served as a Community Engagement Specialist for Peoples Community Action Corporation a subsidy of Peoples Health Center. In this capacity, he was responsible for writing programs and collecting data to determine the needs of the community members for whom services were provided. Shawn has served many roles in the community from a Probation and Parole Officer II with the State of Missouri, an investigator for both the State of MO and the City of St. Louis and managed the Court Programs for St. Louis County Family Court. From September 1999 until January 2020, he was the weekend manager for St. Vincent’s Home for Children (one of his favorite assignments). He has served as a volunteer coach for City Academy School teaching youth basketball fundamentals. He continues to coach basketball for John Burroughs as well as middle school and varsity track and field.
